Marcia Anderson is a Doctoral student at the University of Florida Department of Classics. She has taught Latin and Greek at several universities and institutions throughout the state of Florida.
Marcia was presented the Kathleen Rankin Award as the Most Outstanding Graduate Student at the Florida State University Department of Classics. In 2008, the Miami Foundation selected Marcia to its Miami Fellows Initiative program, recognizing her as one of Miami’s future leaders; in 2009, the National Trust for Historic Preservation selected her as a 2009 Diversity Scholar. She is the former National Chair of Technology for The Links, Incorporated and is the current Vice President of the Greater Miami (FL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
She has also served as a Board Member or Trustee of the following organizations: Dade Heritage Trust, History Miami Museum, South Florida Cares Mentoring, and the Miami Science Fiction Film Festival. She enjoys playing violin in her band, Tuesday Night Trio, and performing throughout town.
